Design codes

Graham desuperheaters are designed and fabricated to pressure vessel code ASME Section VIII, Div. 1. If the desuperheater will be located within two pressure control valves from a boiler, ASME Section I applies. ASME stamp for either design code is available for a price adder. Alternatively, we can design and fabricate to piping code ANSI B31.3 or B31.1 (within two pressure control valves from a boiler).

Graham desuperheaters can be built to comply with either ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 (a pressure vessel specification) or ANSI B31.3 (a piping specification). Likewise, we can build desuperheaters in compliance with either ASME Section I or ANSI B31.1.
